Prices of Frames
Clients frequently want to know prices for a frame of specific size. We must say that we can only give a general answer, because:
- prices of frames are from 1.50 Ls/m (plastic frames) to 80 Ls/m (wooden frames). That gives you a general idea of the variety of frames in our shops and prices ranges. The price for framing your artwork will depend upon the frame you choose.
- additionally you may choose to add a matboard, glass, a decorative lath, or insert the artwork in a double-frame. All these choices change the total price of the framing. We can give you a specific price only if you come to one of our art parlors with your artwork and choose a frame that accentuates the artwork.
Though we can give approximate prices for specific dimensions of frames, for several price ranges, with ordinary glass and without matboard. See the table below:
|
Dimensions |
Price of frame 3,50 Ls |
Price of frame 7,00 Ls |
Price of frame 15,00 Ls |
| 20 x 30 cm | Ls 10,00 | Ls 15,00 | Ls 20,00 |

These prices are approximate. For a precise price - visit our art parlors in Riga, Lacplesa street 2 or Dzirnavu street 3 where our consultants will help you choose the best framing for your artwork. Or visit our internet shop, where you can also get a precise price by choosing a frame and glass with the dimensions of your artwork.
Glossary
outer dimensions - outer dimensions of the artwork (length and width), including the width of the frame, as shown in the picture below. You may want to know the outer dimensions if you have in mind a specific place in interior where you want to place your artwork or mirror, but where the available space is limited in width and/or length.
dimensions of artwork - width and length of an artwork, mirror, photo etc, as shown in the picture below.

matboard - 1.6mm thick cardboards in various colors and textures, used to emphasize and give depth to your artwork.
deep matboard - 5mm thick cardboards in various colors and textures, used to emphasize and give depth to your artwork.
decorative lath - borders of various materials, textures and colors, used to emphasize and decorate the artwork or complement the frame.

laminating - if you have a large format artwork- a drawing or a photo - and you don’t intend to use a matboard (that would allow the artwork to ‘move’), then we suggest laminating the artwork, i.e., gluing the artwork on a 5mm thick foamcardboard, thus the artwork will not become ‘wavy’ and distorted
